Hi! Welcome back! In this post, I will discuss how my original work has been going (the ups and downs) and how I successfully found a mentor!
The past week of ISM has led me to conduct deep introspection about what would be a viable original work, along with finding a mentor, which is one of the contributing factors.
I have spent hours finding case studies and everything else that goes into writing a research paper; however, I started to feel like I could do something that better reflects my knowledge more straightforwardly. I had been pondering for quite some time, but I thought a research paper would take away from the data-driven aspect. The solution proposal, which would contain the data-driven marketing campaign, is only a part of the research paper; I simply don’t have enough information for the other pieces yet.
This was when I asked Mr. Saurabh Aggarwal to be my mentor, and luckily he said yes! It was great because now I have the opportunity to learn from someone who has not only digital marketing experience but also someone who is a startup founder. I’ll be able to learn from him and his experiences while also helping out with his upcoming startup here in Frisco. I am incredibly grateful.
I realized that with this time commitment from both ends and getting to work with an actual founder, I came to the consensus that a research paper (or case study) using Mr. Aggarwal’s startup would be a better idea for my final product (next semester). I concluded that an e-book for beginners would be better to provide a general overview of data-driven marketing. The same information will be going into the e-book but in a more comprehensible way.
This week came with its ups and downs, but I have learned a lot from my ISM journey so far, and I can’t wait to further my erudition for the realms of data and entrepreneurship – and the role data-driven marketing plays in a company’s success.
Thank you for reading! I hope to see you back next time.
