Independent Study and Mentorship (ISM) is an elective offered at Frisco ISD high schools designed for high-achieving juniors and seniors. Students that apply go through a rigorous application process including teacher recommendations, an essay and if selected, an interview. ISM allows students to explore a topic of interest and to conduct professional interviews in hope of finding a mentor. Towards the end of the year, students give a final presentation which is a 30 min+ presentation about what they have learned from ISM as well as their original work and final product.
