Making Leaps in Progress

Hi! Welcome back! In this post, I will be discussing a brief update regarding my ISM journey progression and my success with contacting professionals.

In the past week, I have progressed and grown in my ISM journey, being introduced to cold calling and contacting professionals. I have sent nearly 10 LinkedIn requests to professionals in the field of data and marketing.

Reflecting on my ISM journey, along with ongoing college applications, has led me to a state of personal reflection. I have been pondering how to present myself to those I do not know. How can I maximize my chance of having an excellent first impression? After attending the recent Business Symposium, I gained exposure to conversing with professionals, whether they were in my field or not. They provided valuable insights, and I learned the applications of data in corporate finance and human resources. Meeting these professionals opened my eyes to even more data analysis applications and will prove valuable to my learning. The few professionals I networked with were impressed with my responses. I was able to give powerful insights and demonstrate my knowledge of data-driven marketing.

With the Symposium experience came personal and professional growth, and it gave me the confidence to execute a fearful task of mine. Contacting professionals. I mustered the courage to write a well-thought-out message to each professional I contacted via Linkedin, showing my interest in the field. I contacted professionals whose profiles, when searched, showed keywords such as Analysis, Marketing, Technology, MarTech, Data-Driven, etc. I sent almost 10 LinkedIn requests in the past week, and 4 returned my request. It was exciting as some even messaged me, saying they were glad to help.

It was amazing to see that people are willing to help me learn, which is essential for personal and professional betterment. Knowledge can not be taken away from you, and when you try to learn about your passions, you better yourself and allow other people the opportunity to share their experiences and knowledge.

As I have sent out requests, I have also been working on my cold call outline, carefully planning what to present. My primary intent is to show my enthusiasm for data-driven marketing and learn from those who utilize it daily.

My ISM journey is only beginning, and with this beginning comes even more opportunities for personal and professional growth. Little by little, day by day, I know I will be able to maximize my success in all areas of my life.

Thank you for reading! I hope to see you back next time.
