Motivating Challenges

Hi! Welcome back! In this post, I will discuss how professional networking has been going and give an update regarding my original work.

The past week of ISM has been both encouraging and challenging. On one hand, it has been going well as I have been able to contact many professionals on Linkedin and already conducted three research interviews. On the other hand, I have been finding some difficulty with my original work.

For the last few weeks, I have contacted over 85+ professionals on Linkedin, indicating my enthusiasm for learning about data-driven marketing. Out of these professionals, my connection requests have been accepted by about 30 professionals. It was quite encouraging to see these many professionals willing to connect with me, with even a few replying, saying they are happy to help/connect.

This and completing three research interviews propelled me to progress with my original work. I initially started by researching the basic format of a research paper and what goes into it. I then compiled all my relevant research and interview information into a rough outline. I am now starting to organize this information. I will soon conduct another research assessment, trying to find more relevant information to my original work: suggesting a data-driven marketing plan through a research paper. However, an issue I am facing is where to start. Where do I start writing? The background, the literature review or perhaps the data analysis?

My journey with ISM has had its ups and downs, but I am growing and learning from each experience as all these “challenges” are simply steeper hills I must climb.

Thank you for reading! I hope to see you back next time.
