Hi! Welcome back! In today’s post, I will be reflecting on my mentorship and ISM journey so far.
This past week in ISM has been quite slow I would rather say, as up until four weeks ago I was still working on my final product. Now that I have completed my final product, there is nothing quite major happening in ISM till Final Presentation Night in the middle of April.
I have been brainstorming ideas for the next campaign I have been working on with my mentor, which is the campaign for summer camps XP League Frisco wants to hold. The first campaign I worked on -- which was my final product -- was for a free parent's awareness event in order to increase awareness about youth esports. This campaign I am working on now is directly linked to the revenue of my mentor's startup. My mentor has already figured out most of the marketing content for this campaign, so we will be focusing on producing a curriculum for the summer camp, and advertising the weekly themes.
On the same note, my mentor told me he saw good conversion from the parent's awareness event, and would like to do it every four weeks. It was great to hear that I was able to contribute to increasing my mentor's headcount with the campaign I did. This outcome, although not completely unexpected (as I could tell when these parents were asking quite a few questions during the event) was still satisfying to hear, and that I was able to produce a measurable outcome on my first attempt.
As for my position of leadership, and managing the other interns of the marketing team, I have been checking in on them, and asking them for updates regarding what they are doing, or what they plan on doing, and vice versa. My mentor also told me in our recent visit that he will be hiring a few more interns, and that one will be joining us in summer, although this individual will be doing more outreach tasks. Similarly, another intern will be more of a branding intern, by writing articles for XP League Frisco's own blog.
My mentorship/internship journey for the past four months has been a wonderful opportunity and I do not think I would have been able to discover such an opportunity had I not taken ISM. I can't wait to see what I do in the foreseeable future with my oddly combined junior-senior year coming to an end in two and a half months.
Thank you for reading! I hope to see you back next time.
