Writing and Experiencing

Hi! Welcome back! In this post, I will discuss some more updates about how my original work is going and my experience with my first mentor visit.

The past week of ISM has been nerve-wracking as I have been working on the contents of my short and comprehensive e-book. I also had the chance to attend an open house event for my mentor’s startup.

I have been figuring out how much content I should introduce per sub-topic, as I want it to be concise. I wrote the contents of my first subtopic and fitted it into my e-book format, which I am using Canva to create. I have a lot left to do; however, now that I know how much is needed for each topic, I want to keep the book under 45 pages or so.

On the other hand, I had my first mentor visit yesterday, which was quite eventful as I learned a lot. I watched as my mentor explained to customers how the three membership levels worked and the marketing methods he used at this in-person event – such as merchandise and taking pictures of the event to post on social media. In between, he explained to me what marketing methods have been working for his startup. After a while, he told me to kindly go up to customers and encourage them to follow the company’s social media accounts (which many of them did).

It was interesting to not only learn from my mentor but also allow me to get involved and have hands-on experience, which I am grateful for.

My ISM journey has been incredible, and as the original work deadline approaches, I know I will be able to concisely explain my month’s worth of research and knowledge from interviews and mentor visits.

Thank you for reading! I hope to see you back next time.
